"I can't draw."That's what I hear a lot when I talk to people about graphic language. Phoey! Everyone can draw. We've just learned to be uber critics. To prove my point, here is a drawing by my grandchildren, Caty, age 4, and Jack, age 2 (with a few of my contributions).
The composition has life, energy, context. The images are intelligible if not perfect. There is something in this map that speaks to everyone!
